Calliope’s Macbeth

Double, Double, Toil and Trouble…

William Shakespeare is feeling very pleased with himself. His new play, Macbeth, is finally finished, and he is ready to begin rehearsals at his beloved Globe Theatre. Even better, Her Majesty, Queen Anne of Denmark, will be attending the first performance and that can only mean one thing - Royal Patronage! The future is bright and surely nothing can go wrong....except everything, of course!

When Shakespeare’s actors desert him he has no choice but to use whoever he can find – including your students. With Richarda ‘Rikki’ Burbage in charge of ‘special effects,’ and the stand-in actors losing the plot, Shakespeare desperately tries to keep the Queen happy and save his career! This may be the funniest version of ‘The Scottish Play’ you’ve ever seen!
